My husband and I spent a week with David and Louise at deerridge and came away so refreshed and encouraged. It was so peaceful and we could feel the sweet Holy Spirit everywhere we went in the inn. We can't express just how much this time away with the Lord has meant to us. We met some wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ. What an abosulte awesome time!! Thank you David and Louise for everything. We love you and are praying for this wonderful ministry of yours. We also want to think Bob and Judy and all of the donors. This is one couple in the pastorate that has been truly blessed by your generousty!!

My wife and I have been attending Pastor's & Wife's Retreats for almost 20 years and this week was the best Retreat that we have ever been on. We got to rest, rest and rest some more. It was awesome.

It's always difficult to believe it when you see the word "free" with anything. There's usually a catch somewhere or the product is extremely below your standards. This is one of those "seems too good to be true" free things - but you've got to believe it - it's simply a tremendous blessing for being in the ministry from those who understand the weight that ministers and their families carry from day to day.

From the moment you turn into the driveway at Highpoint Inn, you will feel like you have entered another world where no one can find you and you have the freedom to simply be yourself. Not only are the facilities exquisite, the food fabulous (we won't divulge how much weight you can possibly gain in just a few days - we walked 4 miles daily to try to counteract the amazing cuisine!), and the entire grounds are designed for the ultimate in relaxation. As much as you can't believe it, you will never be asked for one dime. In fact, no one ever even asked us to pray for a meal! The hardest decisions to make each day were "where would I like to take a nap" and how to answer the question "is there anything that you need?"

Bless your family, your spouse and your congregation by signing up for a week with the wonderful people at Deer Ridge. This was our third week away at a ministers retreat facility and every year we cannot believe how desparately we needed the time away.

More Than Expected!

My wife and I had the privilege of spending the week together recently at a pastor's retreat hosted by David and Louise Decker. I did not realize just how much I needed this time away until I arrived there and got settled in. It was nice to have uninterrupted time with her as well as some friends and the Lord. I was able to do something I had not been able to do for some time... read a book from cover to cover. I have a stack of books on my desk that I have started and never been able to finish. As much as I enjoyed the time away I was excited to get back to the work and begin to work on the things that God has revealed to me. Not a bunch of programs,but better ways to be a blessing to the church and those God has placed in my trust.

The extra attention to detail, especially the evening meals, was also refreshing. I had Chinese food for the first time...it was good!

Thank you David, Louise, Jean, Judith and Bob for a wonderful week!
