David and Louise are the most gracious hosts! They are very intentional about helping you focus on God's purpose for you being with them... rest. Truly, we rested and were very blessed. Blessed rest are the best words to decribe Deer Ridge Ministries! My wife and I travelled 9 hours to retreat here and we have no regrets from our experience here, only grateful memories!

Recently I stopped by for a tour of Deer Ridge following hearing David Decker preach his heart for us at an area clergy gathering. His preaching was very encouraging to us clergy about both the realities of the challenges of the pastorate and yet the annointing that comes from God to carry out the call. The retreat center is beautifully appointed in a convienient yet secluded location near a county seat town in northwest Illinois, Freeport. David and Louise are warmly hospitable hosts to this ministry. I have known them for over ten years during a season of successful local church pastoral ministry prior to their transition to this niche ministry to care for pastors and their spouses. They are great people with caring hearts and utmost character and integrity. I strongly recommend that you contact them and come to the Highpoint Inn for a retreat and let them take care of you and be renewed and refreshed.

a wonderful retreat with Louise and Dave of Deer Ridge Ministries. It was so great to be pampered, to be in a very elegant Bed and Breakfast, to rest, relax, hear from God, and enjoy one another's company. I loved the directed studies to choose from - it helped to make the time more meaningful.

After being at DeerRidge for the first time, we just can't give a big enough "THANK YOU"! for the wonderful retreat that you provided for us! Your gifts of leadership and hospitality certainly touched our lives. We appreciate your servanthood, Christ-like spirit that you allowed God to use. His love was felt through you and all the volunteers and supporters of DeerRidge Ministries. By the end of the first day, we realized we were already relaxing and unwinding! The fellowship and fun that we could enjoy with everyone was definitely a bonus! David you are blessed to be married to such an excellent cook!
Relaxing in the beautiful Inn and walking around the property, God did use the time to speak to us and give us a calmness. He reminded us of His never-ending love and His sufficency in our lives. In the middle of the battles and storms, He is our peace, hope and strength that we hang on to. May the Lord bless you all!

They are precious gifted people who are able to guide pastors & thier wives toward finding rest and restoration in the Lord. What amazing gifts of hospitality & encourage they share. The Inn is a beautiful warm home.
