Upcoming Retreats!

November 15 update! During the transition to a new ministry home, we’ve added retreats, at Pinehill Inn, a beautiful and historic Bed & Breakfast in Oregon, Illinois. We are not planning more retreats in 2009. We have scheduled retreats at Pinehill on January 10-15 (FULL), and January 31- February 5. Pinehill Inn is a tastefully appointed, comfortable mansion with elegant suites – a perfect setting for enjoyable fellowship, quiet rest and spiritual renewal.

Our retreat schedule is the same. Guests arrive on Sunday afternoon and depart Friday morning. We will be hosting four pastors/couples for these retreats. All meals, including snacks, are provided during the entire stay. The best in Christian books and other reading material, CD’s and DVD’s will be available. A choice of interactive self-directed studies for your personal spiritual renewal, at your leisure, is provided. Each fully furnished room has a king or queen bed and fireplace, library, private bathroom, bath robes, refrigerator, desk, ironing board, stereo, TV/video player and sitting area. A butler’s pantry will provide snacks, fresh fruit, and beverages 24/6! NOTE: There are NO seminars or meetings to attend!

Oregon, Illinois, is a lovely community of slightly over 4,000 in population. It is located at the intersection of IL Hwy 2 and IL Hwy 64, on the Rock River, approximately 50 miles south of Rockford, Illinois. Pinehill Inn is located very near several beautiful state parks, quaint shops and scenic vistas. Be sure to bring appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. Consider attire for hiking or walking in gorgeous Lowden, White Pines or Castle Rock state parks. Dress for the retreat is casual. Slippers in the house are suggested!

NOTE: Pastors are urged to take a media fast while at a Deer Ridge Ministries retreat. Cell phones should be turned off during your retreat. Calls or emails to check on family are allowed. Calls received or made to your church are strongly discouraged. Emergency contacts from home can be made to us at 815-543-6250. We expect our guest pastors to make appropriate provision for essential ministry while away, i.e., pastoral calls, pulpit supply, daily ministry responsibilities, etc. We recommend that our guests take the Sunday off following the retreat. This provides a week free of the concerns of the coming Sunday ministry. Otherwise, please have Sunday’s sermon prepared before the retreat. You are not here to work, but to rest.
