Valentine’s Day OPEN HOUSE A SURPRISING SUCCESS!

Our “Sneak Peek” Open House was a wonderful success! We were delighted to greet 100 guests On Valentine's Day. We had hoped for 40-50 people. What a pleasant surprise it was to greet so many friends and supporters! It was the first official event in the new ministry house on Forest Road. It was an occasion to show the house after much cleaning and painting. Most everyone expressed surprise and delight at the house and how much larger it was than they expected. It was a thrill for us to show folks through the house that God has provided for Deer Ridge Ministries pastors and spouses retreats. People came from as far away as Ottawa, Mokena and Elk Grove Village, IL, and Monroe, WI. 

Since taking possession of the house last December 14, we’ve been cleaning, fixing and painting. Wonderful volunteers have come to help! We have at least one room ready and are hoping supporters and church groups will help us with the rest. The sooner it is done, the sooner we will be able to start providing retreats for pastors and spouses. We are still hoping for June retreats there. Then we will begin hosting 25-30 retreats each year!

The house is located at 3085 West Forest Road, Freeport. It is a 6,650 square foot house with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, situated on 5 wooded acres. There is also a library, great room and dining room on the main level. Another large fellowship room, bedroom, storage area and home theater complete the lower level.
