"Time for Transformation"

We are so pleased to announce Rhea Briscoe as our guest speaker for the Getaway, March 18-21, 2012! This is absolutely the favorite "special event" of the year for Deer Ridge Ministries! Our “Getaway” is held at Crossroads Community Church in Freeport, Illinois. All meals and lodging are provided as a gift. "GIFT" - that means free! 

Our host inn is the Baymont Inn, just 2 miles south of the church. Each woman shares a room with another pastor's wife, two double beds in each suite, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub at the Baymont. Attendance is limited to the first 60 women who register.

The Getaway for 2012 promises to be another amazing gathering with great worship and inspirational messages sure to bless every pastor's wife in attendance. Our theme: "Time for Transformation."

Rhea Briscoe, married to a pastor, is also a popular keynote and conference speaker. She has a passion to see women experience the freedom and power found only in Jesus Christ. She enjoys sharing the love of Christ and seeing women transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Rhea and David are the proud parents of seven children. They enjoy ministering in their family, at church, and at conferences and retreats. Rhea draws from experiences of God's faithfulness in painful times and uses his word to bring love and assurance to her audiences. God uses her to bring hope through the "treasures of darkness" we can experience in the seasons of life (Isaiah 45:3).

Because we understand the life of a pastor’s wife, this is a time to give them special attention! It is an opportunity for pastors' wives to come together and share their lives with women who understand the unique lifestyle a pastor’s wife experiences. In addition to hearing from an excellent speaker who knows that lifestyle, the “Getaway” also provides every woman with special touches that say, “You are loved and appreciated!” Each attendee is placed in a small group, giving her the chance to become closely acquainted with 5-7 women. Additionally, there is plenty of free time in the schedule, allowing for quiet time, naps, pool time, hot tub time and hilarious girl talk!
